About the Centre
The need to establish the Centre of Nanophotonics arose as the country needed a central institution that would combine adequate intellectual capacities with technological and research equipment to enable the execution of complex R&D projects focusing on nanophotonics.
The Centre will help to raise Polish presence on the global markets as well as create jobs in the research and high-tech sectors. The latter effect is of utmost importance in the light of many highly qualified graduates from technological or science faculties emigrating to find jobs abroad. Over 40 years of tradition in R&D related to optoelectronics in the Institute of Electron Technology constitute a strong base for the Centre operations.
In order to ensure practical implementations of its research results, the consortium actively seeks partners among the innovative domestic companies operating in the field of nanophotonics. Cooperation with certain businesses, such as VIGO Systems S.A., has continued for several years now, in form of joint research and development projects.>
Project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund within the Innovative Economy Operational Programme 2007 - 2013.
